To get the best ice machine for your circumstances, you should contact your local Hubbard dealer today and they will visit you to assess your needs and capacity and can then advise you of the correct machine for your circumstances. All the machines are covered by a 2 year parts and labour warranty and are backed up with an extensive before and after sales support package - although as our machines are built to last, we do not anticipate any type of breakdown. Unlike some competitors who can sell cheaply because they know that their machine will have to be replaced quickly, our machines are built for durability and will last for years, making ours the most cost effective choice.

Explaining the terms:

Air Cooled

With an air cooled machine, the heat is transferred out of the water into the surrounding air via a condenser. For this option, the ice maker should be installed in a cool, well-ventilated area for maximum efficiency, as production can be affected if the surrounding air temperature is too warm.

Water Cooled

A water cooled machine takes water in from the mains and uses a condenser to exchange heat for water which is then flushed down the drain. These are not affected by poor ventilation or air temperature, so will perform at peak capacity whatever the weather.

Self-Contained

The ice machine incorporates the working machine with a storage capacity.

Modular

You can build your own machine, buying the ice making production unit and a storage bin separately.

Electronic

The ice machine is controlled electronically. Sensors send electronic pulses to the Printed Circuit Board which controls the functions of the ice machine without the need for human intervention. These give far greater control to the user who can fine tune the machine for peak performance whatever the circumstances. Since the introduction of electronic machines, the need for spare parts has dropped dramatically.

Electro-Mechanical

The machine is controlled with a series of thermostats and switches. Some customers prefer these systems as they feel more in control of the machine, however the more parts a machine has, the bigger the likelihood of needing to replace some parts.

Remote Air Cooled

This is an option on larger models, whereby condensers are sited remotely, for instance on a rooftop or external wall. The machine is then installed wherever it is needed regardless of ventilation or temperature.

Which is the best machine for me?

Determining the best machine for your needs will depend on where the machine will be sited, how much ice you need and what you need the ice for. Each machine that we provide will be suited for individual needs.
